Bologna Modulare

The idea behind Bologna Modulare emerged in early 2021, at a time when it felt necessary to strengthen a connection with the “outside world.” That connection was later reaffirmed IRL through participation in, and/or the organization of, events that over time have explored a wide range of genres, formats, and territories. Bologna Modulare can be described as an informal collective whose essence lies in creating opportunities for real-life encounters.

Bologna Modulare does not reject any sound. In terms of genres, we move through ambient, glitch, noise, drone, techno, industrial, downtempo, experimental music, soundscape, and all the way to total improvisation — all connected by the common thread of the modular electronic instrument. The collective is not tied to any specific musical genre; instead, it takes on different forms at each individual event. After all, the musical direction of a collective cannot be defined in advance. The focal point is the technological device itself — regardless of its occasional musical expression — understood as an activator of experiences.
